Zhang Yuzhao's calligraphy is also well-known, including Zhang Lianqing's Reading Notes and other kinds of calligraphy. His main works include 8 volumes of Lotus Pavilion Collection, 5 volumes of Lotus Pavilion Legacy and 2 volumes of Lotus Pavilion Legacy Poetry Collection. 19 16, Zhao Yu's descendants re-engraved Selected Works, and combined them with his posthumous works and poems to form Lotus Pavilion Collection. The influential works include Rebuilding Jiangtian Temple in Jinshan, The Back Monument of Quzi Temple, Huang Ruren's Epitaph, Rebuilding Nangong County School and Learning Notes? Wang Teng Geji? Painted tombstones, ode and ancient poems.
Zhang Yuzhao (1823- 1894), whose real name is Lian Qing, was born in Zhang Village, Longtang, Donggou Town, liangzi lake City, Ezhou, Hubei Province, an official in the late Qing Dynasty, an essayist and calligrapher. His calligraphy has a unique way, combining the northern monument with the southern monument, creating a "Zhang style" that has influenced the calligraphy circle in the late Qing Dynasty for a hundred years, and is praised by Kang Youwei as "unparalleled in a thousand years". Li Zhimin commented: "Zhang Yuzhao is unique and has moved the northern tablet for its own use."
In the twenty-sixth year of Daoguang (1846), he was awarded a cabinet letter. Later, Zeng Guofan shogunate, one of the "four disciples of Zengmen", was recommended by Zeng Guofan as a promising person. As an ordinary official, he said, "I have no hobbies in the world, but I love literature." He gave lectures in academies in Jiangning, Hubei, Zhili and Shaanxi, and trained many students. Fan Dangshi and Ma Qi went out of Chengdu.
