Arch bridges in China are unique, with many forms and beautiful shapes, which are rare in the world. There are steep arches with humps, flat arches like bright moons, flat perforated arch bridges with jade belts fluttering, and long arch bridges with natural longitudinal slopes. There are open arches on the shoulders, such as a big arch and a small arch, which are now called hollow arches and closed arches. Arches include semicircle, polygon, arc, ellipse, parabola, egg, horseshoe and pointed arch.
