Xu was admitted to the intensive care unit of Keelung Chang Gung Hospital on June 5438+ 10, 2007 due to worsening diabetes and poor renal function. He was discharged from the hospital on February 2, but he needed kidney dialysis the next day. On the morning of February 19, Xu was found stiff by his wife. After being rescued, Xu died of septicemia caused by cellulitis caused by diabetes at 7: 20 in the morning at the age of 59.
