From 65438 to 0975, he worked as an assistant professor and associate professor in the Department of Criminal Sciences at the University of New Haven, Connecticut, and was promoted to full professor and tenured dean two years later.
1979, director of Kangzhou Criminal Forensic Medicine Laboratory.
1998, served as the police chief of Connecticut, becoming the first Chinese head of state-level police in the United States.
In 2006, he established Li Changyu Institute of Forensic Medicine.
In June 2006, Mr Li Changyu was appointed honorary dean of the School of Criminal Justice of East China University of Political Science and Law.
In 2007, he officially retired.
On September 20 13, he became the consultant of the Supreme People's Procuratorate Procuratorial Technology Information Research Center.
