In September, the imperial court changed imperial academy into a school, and Yin actively raised funds to build houses, and announced the establishment of Shangzhou Middle School in February of the following year. He also took the lead in donating money, advocating that wealthy businessmen also donated money to help students, extracting money from Longju Village (Danfeng County was not established at that time, and it was also under the jurisdiction of Shangzhou's original Shangxian County), hiring the chief provost of the school from Hubei and other places (equivalent to today's provost), buying more than 80,000 books for the school twice, and persuading the gentry Wei Fengyi to donate to build a private house in the back street of the city to buy Beilin. In the 29th year of Guangxu (1903), an overpass was set up to connect the north and south parts of the school, and the 184 school building was continuously expanded. Before leaving office, the gentry of Shangzhou held a grand farewell party and erected a monument at the school gate. Yin Changling wrote an inscription for Shangzhou Middle School, which recorded the school-running deeds and two silver projects. On the day Yin left Shangzhou, the teachers and students of Shangzhou Middle School, the gentry and the people of Shangzhou lined the road five miles to bid farewell.
After the Revolution of 1911, Shangzhou Middle School was renamed Shangshan Middle School. Later, Shao Lizi became the chairman of Shaanxi Province, and strongly supported and sponsored the school. Therefore, in 1936, it was changed to Shaanxi Middle School. The name of the school was changed several times, or Shangshan, Shangzhou or Shangxian, but the pattern of provincial middle schools remained unchanged. Yu Youren, Liu Zhuangwu, Wang Xixian, Chen, Zhou Letian and others were either principals or teachers. This school or school has always been the highest institution of learning in Shangluo until the 1950s, from which a group of scholars emerged, enjoying the reputation of Sanqin and being famous overseas.
