Green Cunningham was born in Elkhart, Kansas (also known as Atlanta), was born in 1909-08-04, and died in 1988-03- 10. 1933 won the "James E. Sullivan Award" as the best American amateur athlete. He once held the world records of outdoor mile race, indoor 800 meters, indoor 1500 meters and indoor mile race.
Green Cunningham graduated from the University of Kansas. He won the National College Student Competition (NCAA) twice and the American College Competition eight times. 1974 was elected to the American Track and Field Hall of Fame.
He graduated from the University of Iowa (1936) with a master's degree and new york University (1940) with a doctor's degree.
