The Historical Evolution of Huilai County
In the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (33 1), Haining County was established. In the east of Nanhai County, Dongguan County and Jieyang County are separated. At the same time, Jieyang County is divided into Haiyang County (now Chaoan), Chaoyang County (now Chaoyang and Chaonan), Haining County (now Huilaixi) and Sui 'an County.

In the 9th year of Yixi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (4 13), Yi 'an County was divided in the east of Dongguan County, which governed Haiyang County, Chaoyang County, Haining County, Sui 'an County and Zhao Yi County.

In the 11th year of Emperor Yangdi's reign (59 1), China abolished the county and established a state. The original Yi 'an County was renamed Chaozhou, which governed Yi 'an County, Chaoyang County, Haining County, Sui 'an County, Zhao Yi County and Chengxiang County. The word "Chaozhou" came into being.

In the third year of the Great Cause of Sui Dynasty (607), the whole country resumed the county and abandoned the state, and the land of Chaozhou, also known as Yi 'an County, belonged to Yangzhou.

In the fourth year of Tang Wude (62 1), Yi 'an County was renamed Chaozhou, and Haining County was merged into Chaoyang County.

In the fourth year of Jiajing (1525), the city was built and named Huicheng. Because it is located in the southeast of Kuiling, it is also called Kuiyang.

In the thirty-second year of Jiajing (1553), it was divided into thousands of households in Jinghai. After the establishment of the county, it was under the jurisdiction of Chaozhou government until the late Qing Dynasty.

During the period of the Republic of China (19 12- 1949), it successively belonged to the Guangdong viceroy's office, the governor's office, the Chaoxundao office, the Dongjiang Management Committee office, the Eastern District appeasement Committee office and the fifth and seventh district administrative inspector offices of Guangdong Province.

1949 On May 20th, Huilai liberated the whole country. In August of the same year, Huilai County People's Government was established. Huilai County successively belongs to Chaomei People's Administrative Office, Chaoshan Temporary Commissioner's Office, Chaoshan District Administrative Inspector's Office, Chaoshan Commissioner's Office, Yuedong Administrative Office and Shantou Commissioner's Office.

1June, 949, Mei Feng Town, Songyang Township, Nanyang Township, Gaopu Township, Yunluo Township, Bengkan Township, Solanum nigrum Township and Putou Township under the jurisdiction of Meilin District of Huilai County were placed under Puning County.

1950 In March, 28 villages in Leiling Township, Huilai County were included in Chaoyang County. In April of the same year, Jiazi Town and 18 Township in Huilai County were transferred to Lu Fengxian.

1958 12 10, Huilai County was revoked and merged with Puning County.

10 in April, 1959, Hengshan and other villages of Hongjiang Commune in Huilai County were assigned to Lu Fengxian.

196 1 year in March, Huilai county was restored, and it was under the administrative office of Shantou area.

1983 implemented the system of city governing county, and Huilai county was subordinate to Shantou city.

199 1 year, Jieyang county was removed from the county to build a city (prefecture level), and Huilai county was separated from Shantou city and placed under Jieyang city.
