However, only by using animals without specific pathogens (SPF) can the experimental results be recognized by all countries in the world. SPF Animal Laboratory of our school covers an area of 756m2, of which the purification area is 445m2. It has an independent air supply, exhaust and air conditioning system, which is divided into clean corridor, clean goods storage room, experimental preparation room, feeding room and laboratory according to functions. Under the condition of hardware, software management is particularly important. Without strict scientific management, the significance of SPF animal laboratory will be offset. What needs to be pointed out here is that the maintenance cost of SPF animal laboratory is staggering, and how to reduce or disperse the maintenance cost is the bottleneck restricting the development of SPF animal laboratory.
