Zhu Shang was the second son of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. In April of the third year of Hongwu (1370), Zhu Yuanzhang made Zhu Shang the king of Qin, and the year was 14. Hongwu three years, Hou Geng Bingwen, Changxing people, responsible for the construction of Qin Gong. It was not until Qin Gong was built that Zhu Shang, the king of Qin, became a vassal of An in the eleventh year of Hongwu (1378).
Taking Xi 'an, the ancient capital, as the fief of the king of Qin, Zhu Yuanzhang obviously had special expectations. Zhu Yuanzhang put forward ardent hope for the king of Qin in the document conferring the title of king of Qin: "If you are diligent in serving heaven and support the emperor, you will be blessed." Zhu Yuanzhang also selected officials and teachers from Wang Fu for Zhu Shang. Zheng Jiu became the left phase and participated in Shaanxi politics. Wang Kerang is the left assistant, Wen Yuanji is the right assistant, and manages the affairs of peace. Zhu Yuanzhang also did not forget to teach Zheng Jiucheng and others to help Zhu Shang. Obviously, Zhu Yuanzhang hoped that Zhu merchants could play a strategic role in guarding Guanzhong and Northwest China, share their worries and contribute to the country.
After Zhu Shang arrived in Xi 'an, Zhu Yuanzhang also solemnly sent him a book, warning him to be diligent and love the people. However, Zhu Shang failed Zhu Yuanzhang's expectations. Up to now, there is still a story about the Ming Dynasty circulating in Xi 'an: In the early years of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang banned people from directly using silver as currency, but issued a large number of banknotes, called "treasure banknotes". Paper money is not only difficult to preserve, but also not durable and perishable. One day, after listening to the treasurer's report, Zhu Shang, the king of Qin, was very distressed to learn that there were a lot of rotten banknotes in the national treasury. From time to time, the villain suggested that the loss could be passed on to the city people, and Zhu Shang was very happy. As a result, people were forced to buy sheep from others with the bad money in the library. After buying the sheep, they sold them back to the people at a high price, only for copper coins. Once and for all, it not only got rid of bad money completely, but also made a lot of money, which made the city people complain. The king of Qin and Zhu Shang were very happy.
More than that, Zhu Shang, a grumpy man, left his father's inculcation behind in peace, and repeatedly broke the law, which can be described as numerous crimes and aroused public anger, and could not play a political role in shocking the northwest. Zhu Yuanzhang repeatedly flew into a rage and gnashed his teeth at him. Before Zhu Shang died, Zhu Yuanzhang warned and admonished him many times, and even called him back to Beijing to reflect. But Zhu Shang didn't care about his father's painstaking efforts, and he was even more unscrupulous after returning to Xi 'an. On March 20th, the 28th year of Hongwu (1April 395 15), the contradictions and hidden dangers in the palace for many years finally broke out, and Zhu Shang was poisoned by the handmaiden in the palace.
In his later years, Zhu Yuanzhang hated Julian's early death and wrote Yu Ji Qin Wang Zhu Wen. This eulogy is called a memorial service, but it is actually a crime, which is unique in ancient and modern eulogy. In his eulogy, Zhu Yuanzhang denounced the numerous crimes of the king of Qin, and listed 28 crimes such as trusting the second princess Deng's family and abusing the princess's family. In Xi 'an, people are stripped of fat and paste at will; Restrain trespass and so on.
