Hangzhou Wenhai Experimental School was founded in August 2004 and established in May 2008. It is a nine-year compulsory education school formed by the merger of Wenhai Experimental Primary School in Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone founded in August 2004 and Wenhai Middle School in Hangzhou founded in September 2006. It is the largest higher education park in Zhejiang Province-Xiasha Higher Education Park and the national development zone-Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is a public school established by the Development Zone Management Committee with an investment of nearly 100 million yuan, which has unique advantages in the humanistic environment of colleges and universities and the economic environment of the development zone.

Wenhai used the educational resources of higher education park to join hands with college students' organizations and set up characteristic societies. Wenhai has clubs such as Taekwondo, Aerobics, Magic, Drama, Handicraft, Dance, Calligraphy, Radio Sideways, Airplane Model, and Empty Model. Use daily or weekly class time to organize students to participate in activities. In order to popularize scientific and technological knowledge, Wenhai also created a popular science park. Wind vane, water windmill, globe and other facilities will be introduced into the campus, and a science and technology festival will be held every year to become a pilot school of science and technology museum designated by the National Association for Science and Technology, Hangzhou Civilization Office and Hangzhou Education Bureau. At the same time, Wenhai also established a botanical garden, introduced more than 100 kinds of plants, and popularized knowledge according to the discipline, attributes and uses of each plant.
