Professor Zheng Gongcheng graduated from Wuhan University on 1985 and stayed there as a teacher. Long-term teaching and research in social security, employment, disaster insurance and related fields is one of the important pioneers of social security and commercial insurance in China. 1993 and 1995 were promoted to associate professors and professors by Wuhan university for their outstanding academic achievements. They used to be professors of Wuhan University, director of the Institute of Social Security, member of the Standing Committee of Wuhan CPPCC, and deputy director of the Social Legal Committee. In May 2000, he was transferred to China Renmin University.
Professor Zheng Gongcheng has presided over more than 30 national strategic research projects, major research projects and decision-making consulting projects of the National Social Science Fund, major and key projects of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission and other central ministries and commissions, as well as Hubei Social Science Fund and Beijing Social Science Fund.
