Cai Hongping was born in Shanghai from 65438 to 0954. When he was young, he jumped in line to farm and joined the army. 1977, Bachelor of Journalism, PLA Naval Academy, engaged in journalism. 1988, with a bachelor's degree in journalism from Fudan University.

From 1987 to 199 1, Cai Hongping worked in the Industrial and Traffic Management Committee of Shanghai Municipal Government and Shanghai Petrochemical Company, and participated in the whole process of Shanghai Petrochemical Company's listing in Hong Kong and the United States.

In the following five years, he served as a member of the Steering Group for Overseas Listing of China Enterprises of the State Commission for Economic Restructuring of the State Council and chairman of the joint meeting of the secretaries of the board of directors of China H-share companies.

1997, joined the investment bank of peregrine. In March 2006, Cai Hongping switched to UBS Investment Bank and became the chairman of UBS Investment Bank in China. This year, he was promoted to chairman of the Asian region.
