The Historical Origin of Jinghui Canal
1922, Li Yizhi, a famous water conservancy expert, began to plan the Jinghui Canal Project, organized a survey team to survey the topography of Weibei, and wrote books such as Jing Diversion Theory, Jing Re-Diversion Theory and Shaanxi Weibei Water Conservancy Bureau Phase I Report, which provided theoretical basis for the implementation of Jinghui Canal Project. 1930, when General Yang Hucheng was in charge of Shaanxi, he supported his proposal to build Weibei Water Conservancy Project, established Weibei Water Conservancy Engineering Committee and Weibei Water Conservancy Engineering Department, and built Jinghui Canal Project. The canal is located in the upper reaches of the Jinghe River in Zhangjiashan, Jingyang County. The dam body is a concrete overflow dam with an original designed irrigation area of 640,000 mu. 1932 water supply, irrigation area of 33,000 hectares. 1949, the irrigation area was increased to 90,000 hectares by expanding and improving the drainage system and canal lining. 1966, the dam at the head of the canal was destroyed, and a new dam was built on the original basis. At present, the irrigation area is 6.5438+0.453 million mu, which governs Jingyang, Sanyuan, Gaoling, Lintong, Yanliang and Fuping in Xianyang, Xi and Weinan, with a total population of 6.5438+0.2 million. It is one of the important grain production bases in Shaanxi Province.
