Introduction to the author of Thunderstorm
Thunderstorm is a drama created by playwright Cao Yu, published in the July issue of Literature Quarterly, 1934.

Cao Yu (19 10 September 24th-19961February 13), formerly known as Xiaoshi, alias Tianjia, Han nationality, from Qianjiang, Hubei. Born in a declining feudal bureaucratic family, he is an outstanding modern playwright in China.

His father used to be the secretary of President Lee. Later, he stayed at home and was depressed. Cao Yu lost his mother in childhood, grew up in a depressed atmosphere, and his personality was depressed and introverted. 1922, studied in Nankai Middle School, participated in Nankai New Troupe, and was the president of Beijing People's Art Theatre.

Cao Yu is the most accomplished playwright in the history of modern drama in China. Cao Yu walked around various theaters with his stepmother since childhood, so he planted the seeds of drama from his care. Representative works include Thunderstorm, Sunrise, Yuan Ye and Beijingers.

During the Anti-Japanese War, Cao Yu taught at Jiang 'an National Theatre in Sichuan. One summer, Cao Yu's family had prepared a bathtub and hot water for him to take a bath. Cao Yu was reading a book at this time, and he couldn't put it down. He pushed again and again. Finally, under the repeated urging of his family, he walked into the back room with a towel in one hand and a book in the other.

They opened the door and saw Cao Yu sitting in the bathtub, reading a book in one hand and patting the water intentionally or unintentionally with a towel in the other.
