Founder of Maotai
Wang Lifu (Lu Ze, word 1858- 193 1), the founder of Moutai, lives in Maotai Village, Renhuai County (now Maotai Town, renhuai city, Guizhou Province, known as Ren 'an in history), and his grandfather Wang Zhenfa (1793- 1857) lives in.

Because of the need to treat guests and give gifts when doing business, Wang Zhenfa founded Tianhe Distillery House in Heijingzi, Maotai Village (place name: Guanjiaji Community, Maotai Town) to brew what locals call Maotai Distillery House to entertain officials and businessmen.

Wang Lifu's personal experience:

Wang Lifu began to learn to do business when he was young. After his grandfather, Wang Zhenfa, inherited the family business, he did business with Sichuan businessmen and took it as his career. He naturally continued the business path of his ancestors.

2. Wang Lifu saw the business opportunity of brewing. In the fifth year of Guangxu (1879), he negotiated with Sun Quantai, a Xishui man, and Shi Rongxiao, the core figure, and set up a burning house in Yangliuwan in partnership. Wang Lifu took the house he burned as a share, and the other two each offered two hundred and twenty pieces of silver. Each family took a word and set up a "Rong Tai and" burning house. Wang Lifu is in charge of production and sales, and Shi Rongxiao is in charge of accounting.
