Wenzhou Art School is the only public complete middle school in Wenzhou. The school's predecessor was Yongjia Private Jianguo Senior Commercial Vocational School, which was founded in the spring of 33 years of the Republic of China (1944). 1942 In February, Zhang Miao, director of Zhejiang Provincial Taxation Bureau, proposed to build a commercial secondary school. The following year, the school board headed by Zhang Miao was established. In June of the same year, 5438+065438+ 10, Yongjia County Government reported to the Provincial Department of Education for the record, and named Yongjia Private Jianguo Senior Commercial Vocational School. The school building is Jiusan Lake (now part of the former site of the North Campus of Wenzhou Art School) temporarily borrowed from the ancestral hall of Wangzhai.

From August 1952, the school was changed into a full-time ordinary middle school, and the founding of Shang Gao was renamed as "Wenzhou Private Jianguo Junior High School" and Wenzhou No.4 Junior High School, and officially named as "Wenzhou No.7 Middle School" in the autumn of 1958.
