In the early 1980s, in some public places, people often pointed to Wang Zhen and said that he looked like a young Mao Zedong. Once in the street, a little boy ran over and asked him if he was Chairman Mao. After so many such things, he couldn't help but have an idea: to be a special actor who plays Mao Zedong. Since then, Wang Zhen not only began to collect information about Mao Zedong and watch books and movies about Mao Zedong, but also began to express himself, and his artistic potential began to show. In his own words, "my personality has changed a lot, and my family says I look like a different person."
In 1984, a friend sent two photos of Wang Zhen to Yin Cheng, then president of Beijing Film Academy. Unexpectedly, Yin Cheng immediately made an appointment with Wang Zhen at 2 pm on May 13. "It's so smooth!" When Wang Zhen couldn't hold back his excitement and rushed to Beiying, he didn't want to wait for the obituary of Yin Cheng's unfortunate death. "The time to meet me happened to be the time when Beiying held a memorial service for him." Unwilling, Wang Zhen went to the "August 1st" film studio to introduce himself, but he still failed.
Half a year later, Wang Zhen received an invitation letter, asking him to go to Wuhan immediately to participate in the selection of special actors for the five-episode TV series "Xiang Jingyu" co-produced by CCTV and Wuhan TV. "When I auditioned for the first time, the director was very excited and said that there were not many special actors who didn't wear makeup. I immediately went to the camera to play Mao Zedong in his youth." Wang Zhen returned to Gaoyou after his debut and was transferred to Gaoyou Group Museum. Since then, learning and imitating Chairman Mao's behavior has become a compulsory course for him every day.
"Opportunities always favor those who are prepared!" 1985 By chance, Wang Zhen saw in the newspaper that the famous director Yinnan Ding would shoot the feature film Sun Yat-sen and audition for actors in the country, which once again aroused his acting dream. He went south to the Pearl River to audition for a film crew and got the chance to play Mao Zedong in the first Kuomintang-Communist cooperation. "Sun Yat-sen" won the double prizes of "Golden Rooster" and "Hundred Flowers" that year, and Wang Zhenxing's road was smooth from then on.
Since 1984 played Mao Zedong, Wang Zhen has played Mao Zedong in different periods in more than 20 TV dramas, such as Xiang Soul, Poet, Shaoshan Spark, Jinggangshan, General Zhang Xueliang and Mao Zedong Going to Anyuan.
