Promoting the popularization of new energy vehicle power exchange mode with standardization construction
There is a long-standing dispute about "charging and replacing electricity" in the use of new energy vehicles. Regardless of market size or usage habits, "charging" is the mainstream of the current market, especially in the field of private consumption of new energy vehicles.

Since the beginning of this year, the policy level has continuously released positive signals about the development of the "power exchange" model. In late April, the Notice on Improving the Financial Subsidy Policy for the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles issued by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology clearly proposed to support the development of new business models such as "separation of vehicles and electricity" and incorporate new subsidy policies. In particular, this year's "two sessions" and "Government Work Report" were revised after discussion and deliberation by delegates and members. In the expression of new infrastructure, "building charging piles" is extended to "adding charging piles, changing power stations and other facilities".

Nevertheless, the large-scale popularization of the "electricity exchange" model, especially in the field of private consumption, still has a long way to go.

Apart from technology and investment, a major obstacle comes from the lack of standards. At present, almost all domestic and foreign mainstream automobile companies have launched their own new energy vehicles, but the development concepts of new energy vehicles are quite different among automobile companies. Even as a mainstream pure electric vehicle, the design differences of various products are still huge, and the specifications, placement positions, interfaces and communication protocols of the batteries used cannot be unified.

The difference in battery composition is more obvious. As far as the mainstream lithium ferrous phosphate and ternary lithium batteries are concerned, the materials and development paths are completely different, and the technical characteristics and use characteristics are also quite different, especially in the links closely related to economic benefits, such as battery life and recycling, which basically cannot form unified management. If the scope of restrictions is forcibly limited, it may also limit the development of battery technology.

Lian Qingfeng, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of BAIC New Energy, believes that "standard" is a concept that unifies the consensus of various enterprises. For example, after the completion of the power exchange station of BAIC New Energy, it will not only serve enterprises, but also serve the whole new energy industry in the future. Therefore, we should first make the internal standards of the industry, and then reach a consensus with various enterprises as much as possible to establish the industry standards.

Lian Qingfeng's "internal standard" mainly depends on the deep "foundation" of the enterprise. As the earliest vehicle enterprise engaged in the promotion of power exchange mode in China, BAIC New Energy has formed a complete closed loop from technology, products and platforms to industrial chain, capital chain and ecological circle.

For example, in terms of technology, BAIC New Energy has mastered many key technologies such as vehicle positioning system, quick change connection system, chassis power exchange system, battery life cycle management technology, quick change battery box, power exchange network operation management and so on. In particular, the power battery evaluation technology with strong "recognition ability" and the integrated network platform of battery traceability, monitoring, evaluation and operation based on big data analysis can realize the rapid evaluation of retired power batteries through on-board charging data and rapid detection data, and the evaluation time is 90%.

On the other hand, the popularity of BAIC new energy exchange services in the public domain has also formed a relatively clear "standard". According to Wang Chunfeng, deputy general manager of Beiqi Blue Valley Marketing Service Co., Ltd., taking Beijing as an example, the layout of the power exchange station of BAIC New Energy has been able to meet the service radius of 2.53 kilometers in the urban area and 5.6 kilometers in the suburbs, which is similar to the convenience of gas stations to users. In terms of economy, the average daily order volume increased by 25%, the operating mileage increased by 38% and the driver's income increased by 30% after Beijing taxis adopted the mode of changing electricity. In terms of power station operation, the investment of a single power station is about 3 million yuan, and BAIC New Energy can recover the full cost within two and a half years. "Public service first, do a good job in economically balanced market segments and spread the channels for power station operation. After reaching a certain density and scale, private enterprises can come in to achieve greater coverage. " Lian Qingfeng said.

It is reported that in order to solve the standardization problem and realize larger-scale development, BAIC Blue Valley has also joined with industrial chain partners such as Contemporary Ampere Technology Co., Ltd., SK, Mercedes-Benz Energy, Aodong, State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, Meg, Peng Hao, etc., and established the "Wei Lan Ecological Alliance" to promote the standardization process of the whole power exchange industry.
