On September 17, Pingliang Intermediate People's Court publicly pronounced the case of Liu Bin, former deputy director of the Agriculture and Rural Work Committee of the Standing Committee of Gansu Provincial People's Congress, and sentenced the defendant Liu Bin to 10 years and 6 months' imprisonment for accepting bribes and fined 600,000 yuan. Defendant Liu Bin took bribes of RMB 6,543,807,000 and an Audi A6L car, which were confiscated according to law and turned over to the state treasury. Liu Bin was sentenced to ten years and six months in Taiyuan. It was held through trial that the defendant Liu Bin, as a national staff member, took advantage of his position to seek illegitimate interests for the trustee through other national staff members and accepted huge amounts of property from others, which constituted the crime of accepting bribes. In view of the fact that the defendant can truthfully confess his crimes after arriving at the case, and voluntarily confess some of the facts of accepting bribes that the case-handling organ has not yet mastered, and plead guilty and repent, all the money has been recovered after the incident, and a lighter punishment can be given according to law. The court then made the above judgment.
