Changxing Island in Shanghai is "embedded" in the Yangtze River estuary, with three sides of the river and one side of the sea. This morning, as soon as the four super-large docks on Changxing Island were unveiled, they showed the world-class level-the largest tonnage cruise ship built since the opening of Shanghai was quietly moored at Pier 1, while the other two giant ships were also waiting to be unveiled at Pier 2. The completion of the four docks marked the completion of the first phase of Changxing Island Shipbuilding Base. Dock No.3 in the base is 580m long and120m wide, which is the largest dock in the world at present. Dock No.4 is 365 meters long, 82 meters wide and 14. 1 meter deep, which is the deepest dock on soft soil foundation in China at present. After the second phase of 20 15 project is completed, the shipbuilding base will have seven large docks. By then, Changxing Island will also become one of the largest shipbuilding bases in the world.
