At the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty, there were four great talents, Gao Qi, Yang Ji, Zhang Yu and Xu Ben, who were famous for their poems. They were born or lived in Wuzhong for a long time, which reminds people of the four outstanding figures in the early Tang Dynasty, so they are compared with them, so they are called "four outstanding figures in Wuzhong". The poems of the four men from Yuan Dynasty to Ming Dynasty are full of homesickness, and the poems are full of expressing their yearning for the motherland and the suffering of the people.
The tone of their works is different, among which Gao Qi's literary achievement is the highest, and some people call it the crown of poets in Ming Dynasty. Gao Qi is brilliant, good at learning from the ancients, and excellent in all aspects. His poetic style is as simple as that of Han and Wei Dynasties, and he is especially good at seven-character songs. Yang Ji's poetic style is exquisite, and his works of chanting things are famous. Zhang is delicate and simple. Xu Ben's poetic technique is rigorous and unique among the three schools.
Gao Qi (1336— 1374), a famous poet in the early Ming Dynasty, was born in Changzhou (now Suzhou, Jiangsu). At the end of Yuan Dynasty, he lived in seclusion in Wusong Qingqiu, calling himself Qingqiuzi. Kay is brilliant, knowledgeable and literate, especially good at poetry. In the early years of Ming Hongwu, he called on Yuan to compile the national history of the Hanlin Academy. In the third year of Hongwu (1370), Gao Qi was appointed assistant minister of the Ministry of Finance, and he refused to accept his resignation. In the seventh year of Hongwu (1374), Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of Ming Dynasty, was beheaded in Nanjing at the age of 39 for writing a letter to Liang Wen on behalf of Wei Guan, the magistrate of Suzhou. He is the author of Complete Works of Gao Taishi and Fu Zao Ji.
Yankee (1326-? ), the word Meng Zi,no. Mei 'an, was a poet and painter in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, and one of the ten gifted scholars in the early Ming Dynasty. After Yang Fa, the grandson of Yang Shu and the son of Yang Yuande was born in Wuxian (now Suzhou, Jiangsu). Delicate in poetic style, skilled in painting and calligraphy. Calligrapher Zhong You, two kings of grass walkers; Draw long ink bamboo and be good at mountains and rivers. He has written more than 100,000 words of "On Sword" and has a friendly relationship with Yang Weizhen. Mei An Ji 12, supplemented by 1, is arranged in volumes according to ancient customs, poems, metrical poems, quatrains, long and short sentences and lyrics. When Chenghua was re-engraved, Jiang Chaozong made a preface.
Zhang Yu (1333— 1385) was a poet in the early Ming Dynasty. Words come to the instrument, words go with them, and words are attached to the phoenix. Xunyang (now Jiujiang, Jiangxi) was born and later moved to Xing Wu (now Huzhou, Zhejiang). Together with Gao Qi, Yang Ji and Xu Ben, they are called "Four Outstanding Persons in Wuzhong", and together with Gao Qi, Wang Xing and Xu Ben, they are called "Ten Outstanding Persons in the Northland" and "One of the Ten Outstanding Persons in the Early Ming Dynasty". The official is too common, and the Mi's father and son are magnificent and elegant, and they have the collection of quiet houses.
Xu Ben (1335—— 1379), a painter in the early Ming Dynasty, was one of the "Ten Outstanding Artists in the Early Ming Dynasty". Originally from Bashu (present-day Sichuan), he lived in Piling (present-day Changzhou, Jiangsu) and later moved to the north of Pingjiang (present-day Suzhou, Jiangsu). He is the author of six volumes of Northland Collection.
At the end of Yuan Dynasty, Zhang Shicheng, a rebel, resisted Yuan Dynasty and was recruited as his subordinate. Xu Ben and Changyu took refuge in Shushan, Huzhou (now Xing Wu, Zhejiang). Hongwu seven years (1374), was recommended to North Korea. In the spring of Hongwu's ninth year, he was appointed by Jin and Ji, and was given the task. He has served as an imperial envoy, a minister of punishments, a member of the Guangxi Senate, and a political envoy of Henan Zuo Bu. In the 12th year of Hongwu (1379), the army recruited Tao Min, crossed the border with the army, rewarded those who missed work and went to prison. In the thirteenth year of Hongwu, he was executed for "evil teacher".
Zhu Yuanzhang killed heroes, which should be said to be the best among feudal emperors. He has never been soft on killing intellectuals. He cut down two of the four great masters, and the emperor of Zhu Ming Dynasty was either lazy or strange, which was also a surprise among feudal brothers!
The four outstanding people in Wuzhong made great achievements in literature, but they were not satisfactory in politics, and none of them ended well, because the environment in which they lived at that time was constantly in war and the country had just been unified. But they are not the staff of the winner, but the staff of the loser. It is normal to get such a result.
