The Life of the Characters in Master Yuan's Works
Master Zhuo Yuan is from Lianjiang, Fujian. He was born in 1909 (the year of Xuantongyuan in Qing Dynasty). He was educated in a rural school since childhood, and later transferred to a public school with new education and graduated from high school. 1927 years old, a primary school teacher in Lianjiang county. Later, I had the opportunity to contact Buddhist scriptures. After reading them, it is like a poor man entering Baoshan, learning the secrets of life in Buddhist scriptures and having the heart to be born. 1934 Entered Guanghua Temple in Putian County, Fujian Province, and became a monk at the age of 26. The following year, I was given an anklet in Fuzhou Xichan Temple. The round, clumsy old mage in Guanghua Temple is a favorite pupil of Master Hongyi. He has served Master Hongyi for many years and has become a waiter of the Master. When Master Yuan was close to the master, he studied the precepts diligently under the master's seat, knowing the important relationship between Legalism and Buddhism, and then vowed to carry forward Legalism.

After the abbot of Guanghua Temple in Fujian, Zhuo Yuan, an old mage, founded Fujian Buddhist College, advocating the printing of Buddhist scriptures, popularizing Buddhist knowledge and training young monks. Master Lao Zhuoyuan followed the example of Master Hongyi all his life. He is simple and compassionate, devoted to spreading Buddhism and rectifying the Taoist style. Today, we see the prosperity of Buddhism in Fujian, which is inseparable from the contribution of the old mage Zhuo Yuan.

Nanshan Guanghua Temple was built in the second year of Chen Yongding in the Southern and Northern Dynasties (AD 558), with a history of 1400 years. 1934, the old mage taught Pan to become a teacher and a monk, and his name was brilliant. Since then, the old mage has forged an indissoluble bond with Guanghua Temple. In the early 1950s, the old mage who had studied abroad for many years returned to Guanghua Temple. But the mountain remains the same, but the temple is unrecognizable. In the past, the twilight drum and the morning bell, the blue fin red fish, have been replaced by the laughter and noise of school children and the roar of machines; The great hero hall, which was originally clean and solemn, has also become a stinking plastic factory; Monks' squatters became military camps, while monks were driven to a corner of the temple and some were forced to return to the secular world. The old mage sighed like this. Although I stood up and argued, I still left some rations and some land for the monks in Guanghua Temple. But the trend of the times, he can only support himself and maintain the status quo of becoming a monk. 1979, after the implementation of the policy of freedom of religious belief, the old mage returned to Guanghua Temple again to shoulder the heavy responsibility of rebuilding Guanghua Temple. The old mage is seventy years old, but his enthusiasm for Dharma and his ambition to revive Buddhism in China made the old mage forget his age and physical weakness, and began his second spring practice with the thread of "reporting four blessings and helping three difficulties". The old mage said in his resume: "After the re-implementation of the religious policy, I feel that the Buddhist community is not only a generation behind, but also really indifferent, but I feel that as long as there is breath, I should do something for Buddhism." That's what the old mage said and did.

While restoring the temple, on the one hand, a Buddhist scripture circulation office was established, on the other hand, Fujian Buddhist College was initiated. Talent is the key to the prosperity of Buddhism, so training monks is really the most important thing for the future development of Buddhism. 1982, the first monk graduated from China Buddhist College, playing young monks such as Lotus, Jiequan, Jiqun and Yuan Zhi, came to Guanghua Temple to study law. There are so many young monks in the temple that has been silent for many years, and the atmosphere becomes lively. Coming events cast their shadows before them, and the old mage seemed to see the light of hope of Buddhism in China rising from Ran Ran in Nanshan. I also see my long-cherished wish, which will be completed in Guanghua Temple. In order to achieve the karma of their study of dharma, the old mage personally searched for learning materials about precepts for them.

And do the same, tirelessly give guidance and encouragement. Because the old mage knows that precepts are the foundation of Buddhism's longevity and the lifeblood of Buddhism's continuation, it is necessary to cultivate family members on the basis of precepts. 1983, Fujian Buddhist College was formally established in Guanghua Temple, adding a "green field" to Buddhism in China.

The old mage was far-sighted, got rid of the old disadvantages, and changed Guanghua Temple, which had been reduced to a Dojo for later generations since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, into a ten-square jungle. With a unique vision, Master Xuecheng, who has not been a monk for a long time, was sent to China Buddhist College for further study. A few years later, Master Xuecheng lived up to the high expectations of the old master and became the abbot of Guanghua Temple at the age of 24, thus becoming the youngest abbot in all the jungles in China. In order to make Da Tie a success, he established the glorious image of a generation of eminent monks.
