Linyi University (LYU for short) is located in Linyi City, Shandong Province. It is a provincial comprehensive university in Shandong Province, the key construction university of the National Development and Reform Commission's "Integration of Production and Education" project, the key construction university of Shandong Province's "Famous School Project with Characteristics of Cultivating Applied Talents", the implementation university of "Excellent Teacher Training Plan", a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, and the "Hundred Schools Project" project institution in China.

The school was founded in 194 1, which is in the same strain as Binhai Jianguo College founded by Binhai District Committee of China Kangda No.1 Middle School. After many times of migration and merger, it was renamed Linyi University with the approval of the Ministry of Education on 20 10 after the development stages of Binhai Public College, Linyi First Normal College, Linyi Education College and Linyi Normal College.
