Basic Exhibition of Aquatic Biology Museum of Ocean University
The Museum of Aquatic Biology of Guangdong Ocean University now has a 12 exhibition hall for aquatic organisms such as whales, fish, shellfish, shrimps and crabs, echinoderms, coelenterates, algae and mangroves, and displays nearly 3,000 kinds of aquatic specimens. These specimens come from all over the world and are displayed according to the classification system. They are neat and beautiful, colorful and beautiful. They are scientific and academic, knowledgeable and interesting, and have high teaching, scientific research and ornamental value. It is also an image teaching material for popular science education. In addition, there are ornamental fish culture ponds, professor memorial halls, Academician Zeng Chengkui achievement halls and Professor Zhu memorial halls.

Fish Specimens: The Museum of Aquatic Biology of Guangdong Ocean University has more than 900 kinds of fish specimens, which are collected from the coastal and inland waters of China, including colorful coral fish, such as butterfly fish, herring carp, naked-breasted eel, red snapper, snapper and so on. Rays with deep-sea benthic fish can generate electricity. Rays will jump out of the water, stretch their pectoral fins and slide in the air, and mudskippers are good at jumping. Hairtail, which has the highest annual output of marine fish, falls to the deep layer during the day and rises to the surface layer at night. ? Fish have suction cups on their heads and backs, which can be sucked on big sharks, marine animals or the bottom of ships to travel around the world. The sea dragon is as slender as a dragon, and the seahorse kisses like a horse. The soles of the feet and the eyes of the soles of the feet are on the right side of the head, and the eyes of the soles of the feet and the palms of the tongue are on the left side. There are also armored box bream and hydralisks. They are as brave as soldiers. There are national 1 class protected fish, such as ACIPENSER sinensis and ACIPENSER schrenckii. Herring, grass carp, silver carp, bighead carp, carp, crucian carp, snapper and shad cultured in fresh water are traditional fish in China. Perch, grouper and snapper are marine fish developed and cultivated in recent years.

Shrimp and crab specimens: Shrimp and crab belong to the same order of crustacea in Arthropoda. Most of them live in the ocean, and a few live in fresh water and land. They are important fishery breeding and fishing objects. Among more than 400 kinds of shrimps and crabs in the showroom, there are prawns, new prawns, claw shrimps, imitation prawns, hairy shrimps, long-arm shrimps, green shrimps, rice shrimps, scallops, crayfish, grubs, swimming crabs, blue crabs, sturgeon, spider crabs, steamed crabs and Guan Gong. The eye-catching splendid lobster, which is 60 cm long and weighs more than 4 kg, can be called the "giant" among shrimps and crabs. The length of the shrimp is less than10mm. Shrimp and crab inhabit. For example, jellyfish and shrimp hide in groups between their mouths and wrists under jellyfish umbrellas. Bean crabs often live with jellyfish, anemones and sponge oysters. Shrimp and crab have fresh and tender colors. This is because red, yellow, blue, green, brown, white, black and other pigment cells are scattered in the dermis under their shells. Different pigment particles diffuse and gather in pigment cells, which can make their bodies appear different colors.

"Shellfish Specimens": In the shellfish showroom, there are nearly a thousand kinds of rare and colorful treasures, such as conus, emerald snails, snails, phoenix snails, harp snails, bone snails, scallops, sun and moon shellfish, pearl oysters, sea chrysanthemum clams, clams, nautilus and octopus. There are giant clams, giant clams, tangguan snails, water snails and spider snails collected from Xisha and Nansha Islands, purple clams, sand beetles, Dagu sea bamboo shoots, wrinkled abalone and sweet snails from the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, snails from Dianchi Lake in Yunnan and mussels from Dongting Lake, all of which are fascinating and make visitors linger. Many shellfish are people's favorite foods, such as snails, mud clams, mussels, oysters, clams, cuttlefish, squid and so on. Among seafood, abalone, clams, etc. Is a precious treasure. Many shellfish can be used as medicinal materials. For example, abalone shell is called concha Haliotidis in Chinese medicine, and cuttlebone is called the inner shell of squid. Pearl powder made of pearl oyster can extract antiviral and antitumor drugs from clams, oysters and squid. There are many shellfish that can be used as agricultural fertilizer and feed, or used for burning shell ash for building. However, a few shellfish are harmful to human beings. For example, snails in fresh water are the intermediate hosts of Schistosoma japonicum, and ship maggots and bamboo shoots in the ocean can pierce wooden boats and stakes, which is very harmful to navigation and traffic.

Algae specimen: Algae is a lower plant, which is generally called spore plant because of its spore reproduction, and it is also called benthic algae in large benthic marine species. Among the colorful algae, there are fan-shaped Phaeophaga, peony-shaped oyster dishes, trumpet-shaped trumpet-shaped algae, pyramid-shaped feather algae and so on. Algae are bright and beautiful in color, such as centipede algae, red algae, laver, cladosporium, sea radish and so on. There are brown algae, kelp and nettle algae. There are green reef membranes, Ulva and Enteromorpha. Seaweed can purify water and be used as food for marine animals. Some seaweeds such as laver, kelp, Undaria pinnatifida, Eucheuma, Enteromorpha and so on. It is also people's favorite food. Kelp is rich in iodine, which can prevent and treat goiter. Swertia japonica is a good medicine for expelling ascaris, and Sargassum can eliminate galls, reduce swelling and induce diuresis. Polysaccharides extracted from some red algae and brown algae, such as agar, carrageenan and fucoidan, can be used as industrial raw materials for food, medicine, cosmetics, textiles, paints and wine making.
