The school covers an area of 1.872 mu and is divided into three teaching areas with a total construction area of 697,000 square meters. There are 35 undergraduate majors, 3 provincial key disciplines, 2 national engineering information centers and 17 master programs. By June 2003, there were 9,707 full-time graduate students and undergraduates. It is estimated that by the end of September 2003, the total number of students will reach11more than 300. It has formed a teaching and research university with undergraduate education as the main body, complete bachelor's and master's training systems, science and engineering as the backbone, grain, oil and food as the characteristics, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines.

There are 393 faculty members with senior professional and technical positions, accounting for 54.2% of the total number of full-time teachers, including 95 professors and senior professional and technical positions. There are 308 full-time teachers with master's degree or above, accounting for 42.5% of the total number of full-time teachers.
