Port department of mechanical engineering was established in 1955. Department of mechanical engineering, a port, undertakes undergraduate professional teaching of mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, and logistics engineering, and undertakes postgraduate training of mechanical design and theory, mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechatronics engineering, logistics technology and equipment. There are 24 teachers in department of mechanical engineering, including 5 tutors, 8 professors and 0 associate professors. The Department of Mechanical Design and Manufacturing undertakes undergraduate teaching of mechanical basic courses in Yujiatou Campus, basic courses of mechanical design and manufacturing and its automation, logistics engineering and logistics management, master's and doctoral project construction of mechanical manufacturing and its automation, first-class discipline construction of mechanical engineering and training of doctoral and master's students. Teachers 19, including professors 1 person, associate professors 15, lecturers 1 person and 2 teaching assistants. Two doctors, five working doctors.

At present, the main research directions of mechanical design and manufacturing department are: liquid metal die forging technology, intelligent CAD/CAM, facility planning and design, modern mechanical design and theory, modern mold design technology, etc. Among them, liquid metal die forging technology has great influence in China.

The Department of Mechanical Design and Manufacturing has made great achievements in teaching and scientific research. Metal technology, engineering drawing and mechanical design are provincial-level excellent courses; The foundation of mechanical design is high-quality engineering at school level. "Comprehensive reform of metal technology teaching" won the second prize of national teaching achievement; "Reform and Construction of Mechanical Design Course" won the first prize of provincial teaching achievement. He has compiled or participated in the compilation of many textbooks, among which the series of Mechanical Design is listed as the national "Eleventh Five-Year" textbook project. In the field of liquid metal die forging technology, he has won the national scientific and technological achievement award and the provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress award. In recent years, it has undertaken 7 military projects and 8 cooperation projects with enterprises, and won provincial invention award 1, provincial scientific and technological progress award 1 and provincial teaching achievement award 1. The Department of Logistics Systems and Technology undertakes the undergraduate teaching of logistics engineering and the postgraduate training of mechanical design and theory, logistics technology and equipment. The main research directions of Logistics System and Technology Department are: modern logistics system planning, design and simulation, logistics system informatization and digital engineering, logistics standardization, logistics development strategy research, regional logistics, emergency logistics, modern logistics technology and equipment, warehousing logistics system monitoring, and logistics system quality tracking technology.

The Department of Logistics Systems and Technology aims to train a large number of professionals in the field of logistics technology, with a good software and hardware environment and a strong academic atmosphere, and has achieved fruitful research results in the field of logistics technology. The Department of Logistics Management mainly undertakes the undergraduate professional teaching of logistics management, and undertakes the training of doctoral and master students in logistics management. The research fields of logistics management department include: green logistics and reverse logistics, supply chain management, logistics system planning, logistics information system, port logistics management, etc.

The Department of Logistics Management aims at cultivating professionals in the field of logistics management. It has undertaken more than 20 provincial and ministerial-level logistics projects and enterprise projects, and published more than 0 logistics books and textbooks 10, such as national 11th Five-Year Plan textbooks and key books of the Press and Publication Administration.
