According to the preliminary investigation of the recent research project on prevention and treatment of children's myopia jointly carried out by China, the United States and Australia, the incidence of myopia among adolescents in China is as high as 50%-60%, and the number of myopia in China has reached nearly 400 million!

Chu Renyuan, director of the Key Laboratory of Myopia of the Ministry of Health and professor of ophthalmology at Fudan University, told the reporter of Life Times that in recent years, the myopia rate in China has risen sharply. At present, the incidence of myopia in China is 33%, which is 22% 1.5 times of the world average. The myopia rate of Chinese students ranks second in the world, second only to Singapore, with 28% for primary school students, 60% for junior high school students and 85% for senior high school students.
