What are the eight universities in China?
Eight Colleges: Adjustment of Departments 1952, the relevant departments of the central government decided to build a "college area" in the northwest suburb of Beijing, and the first batch of (8) institutions of higher learning were established in a unified way, hence the name "eight colleges". Today, these eight universities are China Geo University, Beihang University, China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing Forestry University, peking university health science center, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Youshi University in China and China Agricultural University.

With the construction of eight colleges, a main road named Xueyuan Road has been built from south to north in the college area.

East side of the road (4 stops), from south to north:

Beijing Medical College (now peking university health science center);

Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel (now University of Science and Technology Beijing);

Beijing Petroleum Institute (now China Petroleum University)

Beijing Agricultural Mechanization College (now China Agricultural University),

West side of the road (4 stops), from south to north:

Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (now Beihang University);

Beijing Institute of Geology (now China Geo University);

Beijing Institute of Mining (now China University of Mining and Technology);

Beijing Forestry College (now Beijing Forestry University);

Xueyuan Road/KLOC-0 was completed and opened to traffic at the end of 954.
