4. It will take about 20 working days to receive the notice of getting the ID card, take the receipt to the place where the ID card is handled and return the old card.
It's best to apply for renewal of your ID card three months before its expiration, because there is a three-month processing cycle for your ID card at the longest. You'd better get a new card, and the old card will be invalid. Don't delay it. To apply for a new ID card, you need to bring your household registration book and old ID card to the public security organ (police station or accreditation hall) where your household registration is located.
You need to use your ID card in the following cases:
1, change of registered items of permanent residence;
2. military service registration;
3. Marriage registration and adoption registration;

5. Other circumstances that require the use of resident identity cards to prove identity as stipulated by laws and administrative regulations.
