PLA Naval Aviation University, founded in 1950, is located in Yantai City, Shandong Province. It was reorganized from the Naval Aviation Academy and the Naval Aviation Engineering Academy. It is a military academy that mainly trains junior and middle command officers, flight officers, staff officers, air combat officers and aerospace engineering and technical officers of naval aviation and coastal defense forces.
