Located in Xi City, Shaanxi Province, it is a national key university directly under the central government and the Ministry of Education. It is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and China Electronics Technology Corporation.
It ranks among the national "double-class" and "2 1 1 project", and is selected as "201plan" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform". It is one of the earliest two key military colleges and graduate schools in national defense industry approved by the Ministry of Education in China.
It has been selected into National Integrated Circuit Talent Training Base, Integrated Research Platform of Ministry of Education, World-class Network Security College, National Model Microelectronics College, China Artificial Intelligence Education Association and National Model Software College.
