The story is set in modern San Francisco. Gene scientist james frank has developed a drug to treat human nerve atrophy, which can treat Alzheimer's disease and other diseases. When the new drug was tested on chimpanzees, it was found that it could greatly improve their intelligence, the symptoms turned green and their intelligence reached human level. This successful chimpanzee attacked the staff and was shot after giving birth to a baby gorilla. Later, the institute was forced to euthanize all the remaining chimpanzees, and the research project was forced to stop. In order to save the newborn baby gorilla, Will adopted him and named him Caesar (andy serkis). Will Rodman met Caroline (Freda Toto), a zoologist, while feeding Caesar, and fell in love with him for treating the injury of an orangutan.
