1992, in the competition in which Fu Zhiyu was the judge, Lu Gengxu, Qu Lei and Wei Chenyang formed the Trio Dream Grassland because of Fu Xiao's words, and finally won the first prize in the Tsinghua Campus Song Contest.
1993, Xiao Lu's trio "Growing Up" won the first prize in the Beijing University Student Song Competition that year. During the period of 1994, he participated in the recording of party programs such as CCTV and Beijing TV. That year, he and Cui and others recorded the Collection of Folk Songs in the New Century. Face A, the third song is Zhiwei, who sang it. Later, he sang half and five songs in Growing Up in the name of "Dream Grassland" group. When he just graduated, Xiao Lu lived in a bungalow outside Peking University. Later, he found a house in Tsinghua and went back to school. Before, Lu Gengxu specially asked someone to teach him how to pronounce, but the high notes were always unsatisfactory. In addition, hoping for something new in music, Xiao Lu found Li Jian, an alumnus who was in the radio and television department at that time, and formed the original "Shui Mu Nianhua" group. Originally, he wanted to be called "Shui Mu Tsinghua", indicating that both of them graduated from Tsinghua. Later, for fear that someone in Tsinghua would disagree, he changed his name to "Shui Mu Nianhua".
I remember that in early May 2004, Xiao Lu was invited to chat in a teahouse in the Asian Games Village. Xiao Lu was very happy that day, because he finally wrote all the songs of his next album a few hours before he met me.
