The People's Liberation Army Air Force Medical University (Fourth Military Medical University) is located in Xi City, Shaanxi Province, and belongs to the China People's Liberation Army Air Force. It is a national key comprehensive medical university that trains senior and intermediate medical professionals for the army.

The PLA Air Force Military Medical University is one of the key construction institutions of the national 2 1 1 and the whole army 2 1 10, and it is a pilot university of excellent doctoral education and training program. The discipline construction of clinical and translational medicine was successfully selected into the list of the first batch of universities with double first-class disciplines and world first-class disciplines in China, and became one of the only three short-listed universities in the military system.

There are seven schools including Basic Medical College, Graduate School, Air Force Aviation Medical Research Institute (Beijing), Air Force Medical Service Training Base, seven professional departments and three affiliated hospitals. There are 10 postdoctoral mobile stations, 10/1 authorized discipline for doctoral degree,10 for secondary discipline outside the self-built catalogue, 5 interdisciplinary disciplines, 65 secondary authorized disciplines, 12 authorized discipline for master's degree and 2 (level 3).
