Guangxi Normal University, referred to as Guangxi Normal University for short, is located in the world-famous scenic city of Guilin. It is a university established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. During the Anti-Japanese War, together with Southwest Normal University and Kunming Normal University, it became three famous normal universities in the anti-Japanese rear area and was known as the "Southwest Democratic Fortress". 1983 was renamed Guangxi Normal University.
Historical evolution:
There is higher education in Guangxi, which has been located outside the site of Wenchang Men Site in Guilin since the Guangxu Reform Movement in Qing Dynasty. In the 25th year of Guangxu (1899), Governor Huang Huai established a sports school. 1902, Governor Ding Zhenduo changed the sports school into Guangxi University Hall.
1in the spring of 932, the Guangxi provincial government decided to set up Guangxi Teachers' College on the grounds of "promoting rural education and training more teachers" and set up a preparatory office in Guilin. On June 7th, the first enrollment brochure of Guangxi Normal University was issued. Take the entrance examination in August; 10 10 12, the school held the opening ceremony.
1936 at the end of June, the Guangxi provincial government ordered the closure of Guangxi Normal University, which was merged into the National Guangxi University and renamed the College of Law and Science of Guangxi University. The Provincial Medical College was merged into the Medical College of Guangxi University, and the Institute of Technology was merged into the Institute of Technology of Guangxi University.
During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the National Guilin Normal University, together with the National Southwest Normal University and the National Kunming Normal University, became three famous normal universities in the anti-Japanese rear area and was known as the "Southwest Democratic Fortress". Yang Dongkui, Xue Muqiao, Chen Wangdao, Lin, chen hansheng, Zeng Zuozhong, Zhang Yunying, Xie Houfan, Chen Bokang and Lin all taught here.
