Industrial Economics was identified as the key discipline of Tianjin Business School in 2002 and Tianjin in 2006, and has now formed a relatively complete discipline system. Professor Susie Zhang, the academic leader, and Professor Liu Zeqin, the academic backbone, are both returned doctors. They have been engaged in industrial development, resources and environment research for many years, and have achieved certain research results, formed their own characteristics in China, and had a certain impact. In the industrial research of public utilities, we have formed the following three distinctive research fields: First, the monopoly and competition of public goods, market-oriented allocation and government regulation research. Secondly, the research on public utility pricing and its technical and economic evaluation method. Third, the coordinated development of land development and public infrastructure. At present, there is only one specialized research institution "Tianze Public Utilities Research Center" in China. In colleges and universities, our school carried out this research earlier.

Professor Sun Yu, one of the academic leaders, is an expert on special allowances of the State Council. In 2005, he was selected into the "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" of the Ministry of Education.
