School of Mechanical Engineering, Tianjin University, founded in 1997, is one of the most powerful colleges in Tianjin University. There are 3 first-class doctoral programs and postdoctoral mobile stations, including 4 second-class doctoral programs 14, 7 master programs 17, and 4 masters of engineering. Among them, power machinery and engineering and fluid mechanics are national key disciplines; Power machinery and engineering, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, engineering thermophysics and machinery manufacturing and automation are the key disciplines in Tianjin. State Key Laboratory of Engine Combustion, Mechanical Teaching Base of National Basic Engineering Course, Key Laboratory of Advanced Ceramics and Processing Technology of Ministry of Education (jointly built with Institute of Materials), Key Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Equipment of Tianjin, Geothermal Research Center of Ministry of Science and Technology are also located in the Institute. The college has four undergraduate majors: mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, engineering mechanics, thermal energy and power engineering, and industrial design.
