What is a total nitrogen anion salt?
It is a new type of ultra-high energy energetic material.

Xinhuanet Nanjing 65438+1October 27th (Reporter Ling Junhui) Professor Hu Bingcheng from School of Chemical Engineering, Nanjing University of Science and Technology recently successfully synthesized the world's first all-nitrogen anion salt, occupying the international commanding heights in the research of a new generation of ultra-high energy energetic materials. Related research papers were published in the top international journal Science on 27th, which is also the first research paper published in China in the field of energetic materials.

Professor Hu Bingcheng introduced that new ultra-high energy energetic materials are an important symbol of the country's core military capabilities and the commanding heights of military technology. All-nitrogen material has the advantages of high density, ultra-high energy and clean detonation products, and has become a typical representative of a new generation of ultra-high energy energetic materials. At present, one of the research hotspots in this field is the synthesis of total nitrogen anions. Due to the poor stability of aryl pentazole, the precursor of total nitrogen anion, and the instability of total nitrogen anion itself, it is difficult to obtain total nitrogen anion by conventional methods. Since 1956 first synthesized aryl pentazole, there has been no substantial progress in the preparation of stable total nitrogen anions and their salts.

After years of research, Professor Hu Bingcheng's team has solved this worldwide problem that has plagued the international energetic materials research field for more than half a century, and made a major breakthrough in the synthesis of total nitrogen anions. They creatively used m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid and ferrous glycine as cutting reagent and auxiliary respectively, and successfully prepared the stable total nitrogen anion salt at room temperature for the first time through oxidative cracking. The results of thermal analysis show that the decomposition temperature of the salt is as high as 1 16.8℃, and it has good thermal stability.

The successful preparation of all-nitrogen anion salts is a historic breakthrough in the research field of all-nitrogen substances, which lays a solid foundation for the preparation of all-nitrogen anion high-energy compounds and has important scientific significance for the synthesis and application of all-nitrogen substances and the development of all-nitrogen energetic materials.

High-performance energetic materials can not only be used to make firecrackers, but also be the key technology of the next generation of "flying monkeys"-launch vehicles. The new material will greatly improve the specific impulse of the rocket and is expected to greatly improve the performance of the launch vehicle.
