UCSI University was founded in 1986 and developed into Sitia College in 1990. In 2003, it was renamed Sitia International University College, and in 2008, as a comprehensive university, it was officially renamed Sitia International University, namely USCI University.

The university has three campuses, namely Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak and Terengganu. UCSI University has always adhered to the excellent concept of running a school and trained countless aspiring young people all over the world. UCSI University is the first batch of private universities certified by the Malaysian government to provide diversified courses, which can award bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctoral degrees, and is on the list of regular universities in Malaysia.
