Chang 'an University, located in Xi City, Shaanxi Province, is a university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a member of the high-quality resource sharing alliance of high-level industry-specific universities and the Sino-Russian Jiaotong University alliance, a scholarship awarding institution of the China government for overseas students, a national cultural quality education base for college students, and the first batch of scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases of universities.
In 2000, Chang 'an University was formed by the merger of Xi 'an Highway Jiaotong University, Xi 'an Engineering College and Northwest Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, which was founded in the early 1950s. As of September, 2022, the school has two campuses, namely the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the south and the Weishuian in the north. Taibai Mountain, Liangshan and Weishui are three teaching practice bases with a campus area of 3,745 mu. There are 24 colleges (departments) offering 84 undergraduate majors.
