There is a modern hospital with elegant environment and advanced facilities in the scenic foothills of Luojia Mountain and the shores of East Lake. It is one of the famous stomatological teaching bases in China and the largest stomatological hospital in Central and South China-Wuhan University Stomatological Hospital. Stomatological Hospital of Wuhan University, formerly known as School of Stomatology of Hubei Medical University, was founded in 1960. It is the first stomatology department established by New China. On August 2, 2000, with the approval of the State Council, the former Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping and Hubei Medical University formed a new Wuhan University.

After decades of construction and development, Wuhan University Stomatological Hospital has become an advanced teaching hospital integrating teaching, scientific research and medical treatment. Now it has the right to award doctoral degrees in stomatology, is a postdoctoral mobile station unit in stomatology, and has the key laboratory of stomatology engineering of the Ministry of Education.

Stomatological Hospital is the largest third-class first-class specialized hospital in Central South China, and it is also the base of stomatology teaching, scientific research and clinical practice. It has 17 clinical and medical departments to provide comprehensive and thoughtful oral health services for patients in Wuhan and even in central and southern China. As the birthplace of IADR China Branch, the world's largest stomatological research organization, the hospital has extensive cooperation with the international stomatological community.
