Li, whose real name is/kloc-0, was born in Jiangxi in February, 1942./kloc-0 graduated from Xi 'an Military Telecommunication Engineering College of China People's Liberation Army in 1965. After twelve years of missile engineering, he was transferred to the Institute of Qing History of Renmin University of China on 1978, and began his historical research and literary creation.

1980 has published long historical novels, such as Cao, Young Emperor, Beautiful Country, Twilight Drum and Morning Bell-Young Kangxi and Broken Dreams. Among them, Tianzi won the third Mao Dun Literature Award, and Dream of Breaking the River won the first Lao She Literature Award, Beijing Literature and Art Award and the first Yao Historical Novel Award.
