Over the past century, our college has trained nearly 7,000 undergraduates and postgraduates, which has made important contributions to the national and Shanxi local economic construction. There are ancient literature research institute, dialect research institute, comparative literature and world literature research center and new literature research center. China ancient literature, China philology and ancient philology have the right to award master's degrees. China ancient literature discipline is a provincial key discipline. China Social History Research Center of Shanxi University:
China Social History Research Center of Shanxi University was established in 1992. In 2004, it was identified as the key research base of humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities in Shanxi Province, and became the first-class research unit of Shanxi University in 2007. The first director of the center was the late famous social historian Professor Qiao Zhiqiang, and the current director is Professor Long Xing, and the executive director is Associate Professor Hao Ping. The center is a research institution that actively carries out multidisciplinary exchanges and dialogues based on history, relying on the doctoral program in modern and contemporary history in China, the first-class master's degree program in history and the post-doctoral mobile station in history. The center focuses on history, fully drawing lessons from the research methods and concepts of sociology, anthropology, folklore, political science and other adjacent disciplines, and conducts long-term social history research on social changes in China since modern times, with special emphasis on highlighting the regional characteristics of historical research on the basis of localized society; While pursuing the overall historical goal, we should actively carry out comparative studies among regions to enhance our understanding and grasp of the whole history of China. Over the past ten years, the Center has formed four stable research directions full of academic potential: 1. He has made a series of influential academic achievements in the field of social history research in China, and has been praised by academic colleagues as one of the important social history research towns in China.
