Hu Xinyue

Xinyue Lake is located in the campus of Henan Polytechnic University and was completed in 2003. It is an artificial lake and the main part of the planned water system in the south campus of Henan Polytechnic University. The lake is circular, with a width of 70 meters, a narrow point of 10 meter and a radius of about 100 meter. The deepest part of the lake is nearly 2.5 meters. There are six arch bridges along the lake, of which the two at the southern end are more unique. Xinyue Lake was officially impounded before the unveiling of Henan Polytechnic University in June 2004 and its 95th anniversary celebration. The lake water comes from groundwater seepage. The water depth is kept at 2 meters all year round. There are many fish and turtles in the lake. Xinyue Lake is the most iconic landscape of Henan Polytechnic University, which surrounds the central square of Henan Polytechnic University and passes through Chunqiu Avenue, the main road of the campus.

lotus pond

In the first half of 2008, the lotus pond of Henan Polytechnic University was established in the open space between the School of Surveying and Mapping and Land Information Engineering, the School of Resources and Environment, the School of Energy Science and Engineering and the School of Civil Engineering, as a gift landscape for the centenary celebration of Henan Polytechnic University in 2009. The lotus pond covers an area of about 16000 square meters, adjacent to Chunqiu Avenue, the main campus road, and surrounded by the teaching building of the Engineering College. The base itself belongs to the pit, and the surrounding area is relatively uniform, which is the second largest river landscape of Henan Polytechnic University.
