Note: I mainly use the following apps through iPad Pro and iPad Pencil, so the experience conditions may be different from those of mobile phones or finger painting. The functions that each app has, such as drawing, erasing, canceling and creating new key frames, are not described in detail below. But I will say, I will focus on the characteristics of each app, such as brush type, material, convenience and so on.

Firstly, a lightweight player, Folioscope, is introduced. Suitable for friends who just want to draw casually and don't want to consider too many functions.

Folioscope's frame editing is very user-friendly, and you can add a blank frame in the middle at any time without dragging it to the end. This is not the same as an app to be said later, and it can complement each other.
2. Pixel texture and point brush
To tell the truth, this is a personal interest, and I have a good impression on things with pixel sense. Moreover, the brush of this app can draw the dot effect in pixel painting, which may be more like the animation drawn by the app in 3ds.

disadvantaged
1. No layer function.
Although this is fatal, it doesn't matter if it's just a small fight. But this is the most deadly.
The size of the brush is the same as that of the eraser.
As we all know, when drawing, we may like to draw lines with a small brush, but when erasing, we all want to erase large pieces. However, the setting of folioscope, such a painful setting, determines that if the animation of the painting is not carefully thought out, the efficiency of modifying the painting will be relatively low.
3. There are fewer choices of colors and brushes
Folioscope, which is only for entertainment, can only meet six colors of yellow, green, blue, red, white and black, and its size is limited. Although you can also play endless tricks in limited choices.
If you are not satisfied with the simplicity of Folioscope, then this app should meet your needs.
Inspirator
Animator is my most commonly used software. Android and Apple iOS should have both.
There are two versions of this app, the blue version is the latest version, and the old orange version is no different except the paint bucket. But there is one advantage that the new version does not have, and that is the horizontal screen. So the difference between the two versions is actually the direction.

This is the primary reason why I chose this app. Compared with other apps, we can find that other apps either have no layer function, or just like Animate HD, the layer is limited to one frame, just like nothing. Animator's layer function is very powerful: you can change the playback speed and transparency of the layer separately, and even set the playback back and forth (the fourth from the right with the plus sign above). This makes it very easy to make animation with background and limited animation.

This is also a rare animation app, which can be enlarged and moved to a certain extent. It is good news for people like me who always draw small heads, small bodies and small bodies.

Animator still doesn't know why there are many strange brushes that can draw some magical effects, although I don't usually use them very much.

Just now, I was full of praise for Animator's color filling function, but unfortunately, Animator's color filling, as you can see above, can eat lines and is ugly.
3. Brush strokes "frame skipping"
Animators also have a Bug: sometimes the strokes of painting will "jump frames". When repeatedly modified, the content of painting will appear in the next frame, but this frame does not appear!
Although there are many advantages, to be honest, even one shortcoming, especially the first one, is sometimes a fatal blow.
Of course, it depends on what you focus on. If you want to draw the background, you want to have the function of layer, even if it is troublesome.
However, if you want to draw a slightly longer animation, especially using the traditional key frame drawing method, so many changes in the middle may kill you.
If you want to add a frame in the middle and have more functions, one of the following majors may suit your taste:

First of all, advantages:

Although this is very general, animation HD really feels professional. First of all, it can choose its own size and code rate when it is newly built, and it can also modify the code rate very accurately in the middle.
And in this interface, you can add music, pictures and even words. Very suitable for dubbing, although its preview can't play the sound, it can only be heard from the beginning of the sound. Lip-synching is still a little inconvenient. )
You can also stretch the image at will and add inherent graphics.
There is also a special interface for you to modify the framework. In short, it is too different from ordinary app functions to list.
However, it also has great disadvantages:
Layer function exists in name only.
As a full-featured app, it should be used for more professional animation editing. However, the layer of this app can only modify the picture in one frame, which means that the layer content of another frame will disappear completely, and each frame is an independent psd.
What's the use?
In short, folioscope is suitable for simple, well-controlled animation, or wants to do cute pixel-style animation; Animators are suitable for medium-sized ones with high requirements for layers; Animation HD is suitable for animations with precise requirements on size and bit rate. You want to add voice (or lip-synching) and text.

This is a very! Heavy! Yes! The function of! Because of the action, the freeze frame will be very smooth. (Although it was made before the onion skin was opened, it was charming ...)
3. You can wear a mask
This is also an artifact! In other words, you get the ps solution. On the premise that the camera is still, you can easily use the background of the previous frame and remove what you support. (However, only the previous frame can be used)
4. Remote camera
To be honest, this function is a bit lame. Because although it is remote, the response speed is very slow. So I recommend buying a tripod and a Bluetooth camera key.
5. High image quality
I have reservations about this, because the picture quality is limited by the mobile phone itself, and no matter how high it is, it can't be higher than the SLR. If you want to be a professional, you should use dragonframe (pc only).

My feeling is that I can draw anything I think, such as my upturned nose (which I think of when watching a documentary), or flowing fat, or leaves like lips, etc ... I prefer this imaginative one.
Moreover, my personal view on animation is that two-dimensional should give play to the advantages of two-dimensional, three-dimensional should give play to the advantages of three-dimensional, and freeze-frame should give play to the advantages of freeze-frame.
