In June 2000, Jilin University, Jilin University of Technology, Bethune Medical University, changchun university of science and technology and Changchun University of Posts and Telecommunications merged to form a new Jilin University, and the School of Business Administration of Jilin University of Technology was renamed the School of Business Administration of Jilin University.

In 2003, the Ministry of Education issued "Several Opinions on Standardizing and Strengthening the Management of Pilot Independent Colleges in Colleges and Universities with New Mechanism and New Mode", and all pilot independent colleges in colleges and universities that do not conform to the provisions of the Opinions should immediately suspend or stop enrolling students. In order to standardize and strengthen some opinions on the management of independent colleges in colleges and universities with new mechanisms and new models, Jilin University suspended the enrollment qualification of the School of Business Administration of Jilin University. In 2006, the students of this college moved from Karen Lake Campus to Nanling Campus of Jilin University.
