The headquarters of Shandong University is located in Jinan, a spring city with beautiful mountains and rivers. It has six campuses, namely, the new campus of the East Campus, the old campus, the west campus, the south campus, Qilu Software College and the South Outer Ring New District, forming a campus layout that runs through Shiwu and across the north and south of the outer ring, and has a branch school in Weihai, the most suitable coastal city for human habitation. Shandong University has always attached importance to adult education. Adult higher education in our school started at 1958, which is one of the earliest schools in China. Nearly half a century has made great contributions to socialist construction and trained tens of thousands of qualified applied professionals.
From June 5438 to October 2000 10, the former College of Continuing Education of Shandong University, the College of Adult Education of Shandong Medical University and the College of Adult Education of Shandong University of Technology merged to form a new College of Continuing Education of Shandong University, namely the College of Online Education of Shandong University, with "two colleges and one team". Since the merger of colleges, the substantive integration of the three continuing (adult) education colleges has been successfully completed, and the rules and regulations of Shandong University's adult higher education teaching and student status management have been formulated in accordance with the unified requirements. More than 20 teaching units and 10 correspondence teaching stations in three campuses are gradually forming the operation mode of continuing education in New Shandong University according to our management regulations. At present, there are more than 28,000 correspondence, amateur and full-time adult students in 75 majors and more than 4,000 full-time students in 16 majors in adult higher education in our school. In addition, there are thousands of students in professional certificates, academic certificates, job and industry training, advanced seminars, continuing medical education, engineering and technical personnel training and various training courses. The enrollment of adult higher education in our school covers seven provinces and cities such as Shandong, Henan, Jiangsu, Tianjin, Jiangxi, Shanxi and Xinjiang, and has trained tens of thousands of applied technical talents for the social and economic development of these provinces, especially Shandong Province. The College of Continuing Education of Shandong University is the largest college of continuing education in Shandong Province with good quality and good reputation.
With the development of adult education in our school, the management organization has been further improved and strengthened. 1In April, 1992, with the approval of the State Education Commission, the Adult Education College of Shandong University was established. 1In June, 1999, "Adult Education College" was renamed "Continuing Education College of Shandong University", and this title was used after the merger in July, 2000. At present, the college consists of six departments: college office, student status department, adult education department, network education department, training and enrollment department, self-study department and technology department. Adult education and online education in the whole school are under centralized management.
In order to meet the needs of economic construction and social development and cultivate talents with development and creativity, over the years, our school has set up a new school-running concept, changed its school-running concept and management mode, improved the level of running adult education with academic qualifications, steadily expanded the scale of running adult higher education, and persisted in improving the quality of running adult education with academic qualifications. In order to improve and make full use of the supervision mechanism of teaching management, the college has established a teaching supervision system: an old department director with long-term teaching management experience is hired to set up a teaching supervision committee, which is responsible for supervising the attendance rate of students and teachers, writing regular analysis reports on teaching content, teaching progress and textbook use, and providing decision-making basis for grasping teaching quality; Starting from 1999, the whole school correspondence and the unified English examination for amateur students are implemented in two levels. From grade 200 1, the teaching and student status management of adult higher education in the whole school are all managed by computer. At present, the teaching management system of adult higher education in Shandong University developed by our college has been officially used. The application of modern technical means in teaching management has greatly improved the quality and efficiency of running schools.
