Hosei University (English), founded in 1880, is the first private law school in Japan (Tokyo Law Society). During the Meiji Restoration, it was founded by Dr. Boissonade [1], a professor of Paris University hired by the Japanese government from France, and his students, who were responsible for drafting and compiling modern laws. 1903, Mei Senjiro, the "father of Japanese civil law", became the president, renamed Hosei University and became the law school. 1920 was officially reorganized into the University of Law and Politics. Today, the school headquarters is located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan, and it is a famous comprehensive private university in Japan.

From 65438 to 1980s, Hosei University, Waseda University, Meiji University, specialized universities and Central University were the five private law schools in Meiji. The liberal arts department of this school has a very long history. Hosei University is the first private university in Japan to set up law departments and social departments, and the second private university to set up business and economics departments. The Department of Engineering was founded in 1950 and officially became a comprehensive private university.

1904, this school set up a crash course in law and politics for foreign students in the imperial examination of the Qing Dynasty, and is now known as the cradle of modern politicians and educators in China (among them, Mao Zedong's mentor Kong Zhaoshou, Chiang Kai-shek and Jiang Jingguo's mentor Gu Qinglian all graduated from the Japanese University of Law and Politics). Hosei University is also the cradle of Japanese politicians. Hosei University, as a member of parliament, often ranks in the top ten among public and private universities. [2-5]

This university, together with Keio University, Tokyo University, Meiji University, Rikkyo University and Waseda University, formed the "Six Tokyo Universities". At the same time, the school is known as one of the five famous schools in Tokyo among the Japanese people, and it is also one of the "March" in Kanto (a very difficult private university) (M Meiji University, A Castle Peak College University, R Rikkyo University, C Central University, H Hosei University).
