It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Education, the State Oceanic Administration, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, the Liaoning Provincial People's Government and the Dalian Municipal People's Government. Dalian Maritime University was founded in 1909, which originated from the Department of Ship Management of Shanghai Higher Institute of Technology. 19 1 1 Shanghai Advanced Merchant Shipping School of the Ministry of Posts and Communications was founded on the basis of the Ministry of Shipping Management, 19 12 was renamed Wusong Merchant Shipping School, 19 15 was closed,/kloc-0.
1943 merged into national chiao tung university, Chongqing. 1946 was rebuilt in Shanghai and renamed National Wusong Merchant Marine College. 1950 merged with the Department of Navigation Management of Jiaotong University to form Shanghai Navigation College.
1953, the central people's government decided to merge Shanghai Maritime College and Northeast Maritime College, which originated in 1927, to form Dalian Maritime College. In the same year, Fujian Maritime College was merged with 1920, who was born in the Fisheries Department of Jimei School. From 65438 to 0960, the school was identified as a national key university.
