Northeastern Petroleum University originated from Tsinghua University Oil Refining Department, was bred in Beijing Petroleum Institute, and was born and developed in Daqing Oilfield, which is one of the important achievements of Daqing Oilfield Congress. The school's predecessor, Northeast Petroleum Institute, was founded in May 1960, renamed Daqing Petroleum Institute in July/975, and officially renamed Northeast Petroleum University in April/20 10. Many presidents and vice presidents of PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC graduated here, and are known as the "Whampoa Military Academy" in the oil industry.
Northeast Petroleum University focuses on engineering, with the coordinated development of engineering, science, management, literature, economics, law, teaching and art, and has a first-class national key discipline and a national university science park. The school offers 65 undergraduate majors and 23 higher vocational majors. As of February 20 19, there were 2437 full-time students1person, including undergraduate students 16 149, graduate students 2640, doctoral students 424 and junior college students 565438.
1960, the first generation of tourists from East China, with the passion of winning glory for the country, contributing to socialist construction and donating oil to the motherland, and with the spirit of picking up grain, farming, laying the foundation, struggling hard and constantly striving for self-improvement, established a new oil company at the headquarters of Songliao Oil Battle with the emergence of Daqing Oilfield.
